September 21st Fishing Report

Scattered sprinkles with isolated showers before 2pm, then scattered sprinkles between 2pm and 3pm, then isolated showers after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 60. East wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

It feels like fall out there…. Chilly nights, cooler days. It’s time to get serious about fishing. Add to that a post flush of the creeks (most of our waters have subsided after the heavy rains on Friday and are clear to slightly stained) and starting to see some blue winged olive hatches in the afternoon. On paper, it is pretty good in the Driftless right now!

There are a few creeks that remain murky. Squirmy worm and some leeches work well there. Otherwise edible indicators with a bead head below will work all day long. Watch for risers in the later afternoon.
