September 30th Fishing Report

A slight chance of showers before 8am, then a slight chance of showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Drizzly couple of days ahead! The forecast is calling for drizzle to light rain through Friday, with mild to cooler temperatures. In other words, perfect Driftless fishing weather!

Match the hatch terrestrial fishing will be slow as cold and wet ground means the bugs will be hunkered down. However, fishing an edible indicator or attractor foam fly will still be successful. Fishing a bead head below, or an unweighted pheasant tail behind it is important. The PT emerger is especially effective during the olive hatch in the later afternoon.

Subsurface fishing will be solid on scuds, leeches, and pink squirrels with this cloudy weather.
