April 24th Fishing Report
Scattered rain and snow showers before 1pm, then a slight chance of rain showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. Light and variable wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. While the fishing was still good, the weather last week was anything but consistent. It is forecasted to calm down a bit this coming week.
We are still seeing olives pretty much daily with a hatch in the later morning and a spinner fall in the evening. Caddis are also showing up a bit again hatching in the later afternoon.
If not surface activity is visible, fishing a smaller (16) foam pattern with a bead head below has been very effective below the riffles. Leeches and streamers especially in baitfish colors (suckers and chubs are spawning) are good now too.
