April 29th Fishing Report
Showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 47. Northwest wind 6 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. If it weren't for the wind, it would be just about a perfect fishing weekend. Creeks are clear with temperatures right around 50 degrees. Caddis and blue winged olives are hatching, and with the clouds in the sky, fish are less spooky than the past few days.
We're starting the morning nymphing with either thicker bodied bead heads and scuds or slowly swimming leeches. Once fish start rising in the afternoon we are switching to dry fly mode. Twitching caddis in the riffles or casting tilt wing duns to sipping rises in the runs below the riffles.
