June 7th Fishing Report
Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 76. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph.We get a break from the crushing heat with highs in the mid 70s for the next couple of days. Creeks are still very low and clear though (we still need rain badly) and fish are super spooky. Remember to fish any bit of shade you can find, concentrate from sunup to about 10 and dinner time until sundown for the best fishing. Trout are far more willing to eat in the broken, riffle water than they are the deep flat pools too.
Beetles and ants are working well early (the hippie stomper hatch is on!) part of the day with thin bodied bead heads tied below. In the evening, lighter colored mayflies, craneflies, and egg laying caddis are getting fish to rise.
