June 19th Fishing Report
Sunny, with a high near 86. South wind 3 to 8 mph.Creeks are very low and clear with temperatures in the high 50s to mid 60s.
We did get some rain last night (up to an inch in a couple places!). While this is good news for our gardens, it will not yet move the needle on the creeks. The ground is so dry that the vast majority was soaked up by the ground. Even so, it is a relief to finally see some real rain fall!
Fishing is still best early and late with the mid day sun making fish spooky and unhappy.
Fish are rising to a handful of lighter colored mayflies, caddis and cranes especially in the evenings. During the day, a beetle or small hopper with a thin bead head below is still working very well.
