June 29th Fishing Report
Widespread haze before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.Still no rain. Creeks are starting to warm up a bit (as they normally do this time of year) so please use your thermometer. Anything over 65 is probably a bad idea to fish.
The morning fishing has still been viable, but not great. Evenings are typically the last hour or maybe two before the sun goes down. This hot and dry year is not great for trout fishing in the Driftless. While there are still fish to be caught and creeks that can be fished responsibly, it might not be a bad idea to postpone trips until we get a cold front or, more importantly, some rains.
