August 31st Fishing Report
Sunny, with a high near 77. Light southeast wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.Water is still extremely low and clear. Temperatures on the small to medium sized creeks are still around 60 thanks to some cool nights.
We had a brief taste of late summer weather the past few days and the morning fishing responded well. Lots of terrestrial action, a few trico sippers, and trout happily taking perdigons in the riffles.
Today and tomorrow continue to look good, while Saturday is going to start another few days of hot weather that will last until mid week next week.
We are still waiting for rain. There has been no significant rainfall since springtime and the creeks are very low. Please make sure to use your thermometer! The larger creeks are not in good shape temperature wise. Anything over 65 degrees will be poor fishing, and much warmer than that can harm fish.
