May 22nd Fishing Report
A slight chance of showers between 1pm and 4pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 69. Breezy, with a west wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%Anywhere between an inch and over two fell in our area yesterday, with most of the heavier rains falling early in the day (the big storm pretty much split around vernon county.
The rains were enough to muddy up pretty much all the creeks. This is the first time in over a year we have seen enough rain to flush the creeks a bit! While may creeks remain murky, there is a tiny bit of fishable water out there. The creeks will drop and clear quickly throughout the day.
On the murky creeks a black leech or streamer can catch some fish, as will large scuds and san juan worms. As things dry out a bit, a beetle with a dropper will do well on the clear to stained waters.
