May 30th Fishing Report

Sunny, with a high near 71. South wind 6 to 11 mph.
Creeks are clear to slightly stained with water temperatures in the high 50s to 60.  Just about perfect for late May!

WIth this high pressure system sitting over us again today, fish are very spooky.  Focus on the riffles and shady areas.  For a late spring bonus, the shady areas are also some of the best terrestrial fishing right now.  Overhanging grass, trees etc are highways for ants and beetles.  Make sure to fish a small terrestrial wherever thing are hanging over the creeks.

Hatch wise we are seeing mayflies, mostly in the evenings, but a few here and there during the day too.  Sulphurs, cahills... all of the lighter colored mayflies are around.  There are a few caddis (mostly egg layers) and craneflies too.

Subsurface fishing has been solid on thinner bodied bead heads.

Leeches, streamers and mice at night.
