August 30th Fishing Report
Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.Area wide, we got about 1-2 inches of rain around midnight last night. The heavier rains were closer to the Mississippi river.
These mini summer flushes help cool things down a bit, and can be some good fishing. In the stained water, fishing leeches and scuds, and in the clear water hoppers and droppers.
The weekend weather looks like clear skies and sunny weather with temperatures that are not too terrible. It still isn't great fishing after about 10 or 11 a.m. when the sun is shining directly on the water. We recommend you fish hard in the mornings, take a mid day break, then fish again the last hour or two in the evening and maybe even throw a mouse patter around after dark.
The good news is that the evening temperatures are starting to get chillier, if this continues and we get some cloudy days, fishing will start to pick up again throughout the day, not just being limited to summer mornings!
