October 3rd Fishing Report

Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 74. North wind 3 to 8 mph.
There is a slight chance of some clouds later today and into tonight.
Fishing has been sluggish due to a high pressure system that has been sitting over us for what feels like forever!  We're not seeing much for hatches unless some clouds roll in, and the trout overall have a bit of lockjaw.  There are a handful of midges hatching and a light smattering of olives but overall the surface activity has been slow lately.
Hoppers with droppers are catching fish still, as is rolling heavy  nymphs on the bottom of the riffles and runs.  Streamers have also been pretty good when the sun is off the water.
Remember that season closes after the 15th of this month!  Enjoy some fall weather and get out there and fish!
