March 21st Fishing Report
A slight chance of showers between 4pm and 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a southwest wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.With the melting snow hitting the creeks, fishing is all about managing the melt. The problem is cold water entering the system from snowmelt. Things aren't too muddy out there as the majority of creeks are in good, fishable shape. But once the cold water hits, things shut down rapidly. Remember to use your thermometer and watch for temperature drops in the afternoon.
Cloudy days like today help to keep the sun from melting things too quickly!
Focus on fishing scuds, caddis larvae/pupae, and flashier bugs in the stained water. Midges and thin bodied bugs subsurface in the clearer water. Hatches remain sparse, with a few sightings of blue winged olives.
