March 31st Fishing Report

Sunny, with a high near 42. North wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
Creeks are clear to slightly stained overall.  Temperatures in the mid 40s to higher 40s.
The rains yesterday were light to just a mist in most of our area, we were spared the heavier rains.  The mornings the next couple of days will be chilly.  No need to get out there early.
We're seeing some olives and spring stones on the surface while the black midges are dwindling in numbers.  The hatches are in the later afternoon when water temperatures are pushing 50 degrees.
Subsurface fishing has been the most effective with scuds, and flashy nymphs working quite well.  The leech and small streamer bite continues to be solid with fish eating them if they are dead drifted or just twitched being preferred over fast movement.
