April 22nd Fishing Report
Showers likely before 9am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 70. Southeast wind 8 to 11 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.. Creeks are in GREAT shape right now. We received another 1/2 inch of light, soaking rains last night which will do little to nothing in terms of muddying up the creeks. Most of the moisture has soaked right into the ground leaving creeks clear to slightly stained. Water temperatures are in the higher 40s to 50. We are still seeing some blue winged olives, but on a sunnier and warmer day like today we expect to see black caddis and potentially some tan caddis.
. Subsurface fishing has been solid on pretty much everything! Some flash on your flies seems to help, but fishing deeper runs in the mornings, then moving up to the riffles mid day and into the afternoon is successful.
The streamer and leech game has really turned on when the water temperatures climb over 50 degrees.
