March 4th Fishing Report
Sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.Things have been so much fun this March. Perfect winter conditions to fish mid day. Make sure you are fishing rising water temperature. Once snowmelt hits the creeks the fishing shuts down. Typically the best fishing is between 9 and 2.
Spanish bullets, zebra midges, surrender jigs and simple black copper johns are doing very well subsurface. On the surface, miracle midges, massacre midges and simple parachute adams are catching fish.
Look for rising fish in the afternoons on the tailouts of pools.
Creeks are low and clear (normal for winter) and the fish are spooky. Make sure to approach with as much stealth as possible!
