August 19th Fishing Report
Sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph.Steady weather until the weekend. We are seeing a few midges and mayflies hatching in the evenings, but overall fishing has been best on terrestrials and bead heads. Fishing smaller (size 16) training wheels and hippie stompers has been good on the surface, but ants have been even better!
Subsurface fishing is quite good on thin bodied patterns such as zebra nymphs and perdigons. The key is finding shaded areas. This means fishing early and late, or finding areas of overhanging vegetation.
