August 24th Fishing Report
Sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 98. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Some scorching weather the next few days with highs in the high 80s through Thursday. Might be a good week to stay home and give trout a break! If you do fish please make sure to use your thermometer. Water temps over 65 will mean poor fishing and much higher than that can be stressful or lethal to fish.
The weekend puts temps back in the high 70s, but until then it will be HOT.
Fishing will be best early and late avoiding the mid day heat.
While hatches are fairly sparse still (very normal for this time of year), trout will still eat terrestrials on the surface, as well as smaller thin profile bead heads subsurface.
