August 28th Fishing Report
UPDATE 5:00 PM No more rain tonight! Viroqua received no more rain today, creeks are clear to slightly stained and fishing very well. Cool temps tonight and a week of better temperatures and happy fish ahead starting tomorrow!!Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 6 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Rains last night dropped about half an inch to an inch, a brief but heavy shower passed through the area this morning and we are supposed to see more through the day. We will keep you posted, but if there isn't a massive gully washer event, the ground is so dry that these rains should set us up for a fantastic weekend of fishing.
Hopper dropper has been the ticket all day long, with a few hatches of micro olives and the trico spinner fall very early in the morning and late in the evening. In cloudy water, fish a worm pattern and leech!
