April 20th Fishing Report
A slight chance of rain and snow showers between noon and 2pm, then a chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.Cold nights have water temperatures dipping into the mid to high 40s. They eventually warm up to 50 again in many of the creeks after a few hours of sun. This means the quality fishing is starting later in the day (our guide trips have been starting at 10 am instead of 8 as we normally would).
Creeks are still clear and low so fish are extremely spooky.
Watch for olives in the afternoon as well as some caddis. The hatches have slowed down a bit with this chilly weather snap, but fish are still rising. Most of the feeding is subsurface. Floating a hippie stomper with a bead head below has been the go to rig. If that isn't working, try dead drifting a leech under an indicator and twitching it occasionally.
