January 27th Fishing Update
A 20 percent chance of snow before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to near 26 by 11am, then falling to around 17 during the remainder of the day. Blustery, with a northwest wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon.Phantom warm up this morning, but quickly going back to too cold to fish.
Creeks are showing some shelf ice after the past couple of days of sub zero temperatures. It has been bitterly cold and will take a while for that ice to melt off and for creeks to get into fishable shape again. The good news is that a tiny bit of a warm up comes this weekend (mid 20s). If the sun peeks out it can melt the snow and set up for some good fishing early next week (temps in the low 30s). It all depends on how much of the shelf ice melts between now and early next week.
