April 21st Fishing Report
Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 63. West wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Yesterday we had drizzle all afternoon and evening. Thankfully it didn't rain hard enough to mess anything up on the creeks. They remain clear to stained with temperatures in the high 40s to 50 degrees.
Olives are still the main item on the menu with a sprinkling of spring stoneflies. On a day like today, there is a chance at seeing some caddis. The rocks have lots of bright larvae on them ready to hatch (spoiler, fish a green caddis larvae subsurface!)
Subsurface fishing has been great on pretty much any bead heads drifted below the riffles. Something with a bit of movement like a CDC collar is especially effective right now as fish are picking up on movement.
