April 23rd Fishing Report
Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Breezy, with a southwest wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 19 to 24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph.Creeks are clear to slightly stained with temperatures in the high 40s to low 50s.
We're at a transition where the caddis are waiting to hatch (on sunny days we have seen some black caddis already!) and the olives are almost done. Normally on sunny days like this we see more caddis and when the clouds are overhead we see more olives.
Subsurface fishing has been very good on thicker bodied flies and caddis larvae (especially in green)
It has been a busy weekend with many fishing clubs out there. We encourage you to remember to fish nice. If there is a car at an access point please drive to another spot. Do not hop upstream of other anglers (without checking with them first, they have the right of way), and finally remember that there is never a good reason to trespass!
