April 27th Fishing Report
A 20 percent chance of showers after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. East wind 5 to 10 mph.Creeks are low and clear with temperatures in the high 40s to low 50s.
We seem to be stuck in a weather pattern that isn't all that comfortable for humans. However, the stable weather has put fish in a good mood! While it isn't necessary to get up at dawn as the creeks need to warm up a bit, fishing can be consistent all day. Hatches are a bit sparse as the caddis need a bit more sun and warm weather (when the clouds break up, even briefly, caddis show up) and the olives are just naturally tapering off. Subsurface fishing is quite solid. Either tight line nymphing or drifting a scud below a hippie stomper, fish are in the shin to thigh deep water feeding.
Leeches and streamers are also effective right now! Don't forget a few olive colored flies to mimic the creek lamprey that are around!
