April 28th Fishing Report
A slight chance of showers before 1pm, then a slight chance of showers after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 47. East wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.Although it just doesn't sound pleasant on paper, the fish are still pretty happy in the afternoons when things warm up a bit. The mornings are slow as we wait for temperatures to climb a bit (they have been climbing as much as 4-5 degrees lately!)
Caddis will show up again if we ever see the sun. Even brief windows of sun have given us a few black caddis hatching. They are all over the rocks right now just waiting for a bit warmer and sunnier day. We have had good success fishing larger (12-14) parachutes with a small dropper as well as darker colored (brown, olive, black) foam patterns with a dropper below.
The droppers have been more successful with a thicker profile. Think purple drank, brush hog, pork chop express, scuds etc.
