May 26th Fishing Report
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am, then a slight chance of showers between 7am and 8am. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 61. Light northeast wind becoming north 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.Rains yesterday totalled 3/4 to one inch. That has left all of the creeks with a very slight to medium stain that has mostly cleared up overnight. Only the West Fork of the Kickapoo was muddy yesterday.
In the stained water, fish larger scuds, leeches, and thicker bodied nymph patterns. In the clear water fishing hot spot PTs, brush hogs, and euro squirrels.
On the surface we are still prospecting with foam patterns through the day. Fish have been happily eating hippie stompers and beetles. Hatch wise, we are still in the midst of our caddis (we have seen both black and tan) while we are spotting more and more craneflies and lighter colored mayflies (Sulphurs, cahills)
