August 19th Fishing Report
Showers and thunderstorms likely before noon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.Creeks are clear to slightly stained with temperatures in the low 60s.
Spotty rains area wide last night and through the next day or two. As of now there is nothing that we are seeing forecasted that will do anything negative to the creeks in terms of clarity. These summer storms give us some of the best fishing we can have! The cool down the air temps, and push the water temps a bit lower as well as provide some shade for trout. All good things mid summer!
We're still doing well fishing terrestrials with bead heads below. On the cloudier days, instead of the normal thin bodied bugs we fish in the summertime, switch over to a scud or something with a bit thicker profile as fish will feed on them very well if the sun is not overhead.
These conditions are also excellent for leech and streamer fishing!
