All too often we obsess with heavy bead heads rolling along the bottom.  When trout get fussy, or the water is crystal clear and the sky is cloudless we actually catch far more trout on subtle unweighted patterns.  The day saver is the ultimate stealth fly.  Grease it up and fish it in the surface as an emerger.  Fish it behind a heavy bead head closer to the bottom, or even tie it on as a trailing fly behind a caddis or parachute.
