This spent wing trico is meant to be fished slightly below the surface, and is ideal during prolific Trico hatches when there are too many naturals on the water for your artifical to be seen. We recommend using it as a dropper behind a good floating mayfly pattern, like a parachute adams since the takes will be challenging to see. The thin use of materials and wire body aid in it sinking into the zone. Use this anywhere there are tricos hatching.
