June 30th Fishing Report

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 4pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 82. Light west wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Cloudy and humid start to the day. The clouds will break up a bit later on. We’re in summer mode which means fishing as early as possible to take advantage of shade and cooler water temperatures. While things are not too hot yet, we are still recommending that you use your thermometer often. Anything over 65 will be slow fishing, and much warmer you can be harming trout.
Creeks are stained to muddy today after another great summer shower last night. Anywhere from half to an inch fell area wide. It hit pretty consistently throughout the area (much more rain fell in the Fennimore area). That means you will have to put a couple extra miles on your drive time to find the stained to clear water out there!
. A good day for San Juan worms, leeches, and large scuds.
