The rains yesterday almost all missed us! We only had about an inch of rain total in our area. The ground was dry enough to soak the vast majority of that up so we have clear to slightly stained waters for the weekend!
Expect the terrestrial bite to continue to be strong. Hoppers, ants, beetles, they are all the main thing on the menu right now. Tiny olives and tricos are showing up at first and last light too and fish are rising to small parachutes and emergers.
Streamers and mice at night are a great way to catch fish now too.

UPDATE 5:00 PM No more rain tonight! Viroqua received no more rain today, creeks are clear to slightly stained and fishing very well. Cool temps tonight and a week of better temperatures and happy fish ahead starting tomorrow!!

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 6 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Rains last night dropped about half an inch to an inch, a brief but heavy shower passed through the area this morning and we are supposed to see more through the day. We will keep you posted, but if there isn’t a massive gully washer event, the ground is so dry that these rains should set us up for a fantastic weekend of fishing.
Hopper dropper has been the ticket all day long, with a few hatches of micro olives and the trico spinner fall very early in the morning and late in the evening. In cloudy water, fish a worm pattern and leech!
