Fishing Report

Showers likely before 9am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 70. Southeast wind 8 to 11 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
. Creeks are in GREAT shape right now. We received another 1/2 inch of light, soaking rains last night which will do little to nothing in terms of muddying up the creeks. Most of the moisture has soaked right into the ground leaving creeks clear to slightly stained. Water temperatures are in the higher 40s to 50. We are still seeing some blue winged olives, but on a sunnier and warmer day like today we expect to see black caddis and potentially some tan caddis.
. Subsurface fishing has been solid on pretty much everything! Some flash on your flies seems to help, but fishing deeper runs in the mornings, then moving up to the riffles mid day and into the afternoon is successful.
The streamer and leech game has really turned on when the water temperatures climb over 50 degrees.

Yesterday we got a good soaking rain of about an inch and a half area wide. Some creeks will show a bit of stain today, but rain was not too heavy to make things unfishable.
The week ahead is looking cloudy and with spotty rains. Excellent news for our drought situation!
Fish are happy and feeding well subsurface on scuds, flashy nymphs, and leeches and streamers. On the surface the olive hatch is still around, but subsiding. The caddis hatches are getting stronger.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 10am and 4pm, then a chance of showers after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 59. East wind 7 to 11 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Creeks are clear to stained. Rains last night were half an inch to an inch total and should not be enough to muddy things up. Even this morning we have clear creeks and fishable water over most of the area. These were much needed rains and the ground soaked most of it up.
We are still seeing olives daily, and black caddis on the sunnier days.
The weekend ahead will be partly cloudy today, sunny on Saturday, then cloudy again on Sunday.

A small rain storm is (hopefully) blowing into the area tonight. We really need the rain as creeks are very low. Cloud cover and wind will increase as the day goes on.
It is supposed to rain a bit tonight, then start to clear out tomorrow leaving a calm and sunny weekend.
We are still seeing blue winged olive mayflies and black caddis in the afternoons. The water temperature is chilly in the early mornings, then climbing to 50 degrees in the afternoon. Most of the hatch activity is when the water temperature is close to 50 degrees.

Conditions are great right now. While the creek could be a bit higher (we really need some rain!) fish are very happy. Normally they are in the deeper runs in the mornings and will happily feed on scuds, caddis larvae, and flashy nymphs subsurface. Around mid day (or earlier on sunny days like today) they move into the riffles to feed on the caddis and mayflies hatching. It is still chilly at night, so there is no need to get up at the crack of dawn. It is a 9-5 fishery right now.

Not much different from the past few days. The winds are making fishing (especially dry fly fishing) more difficult. We are seeing olives and black caddis in the afternoons, and the subsurface fishing game is strong on pretty much everything right now!
We are on the lookout for the creek lamprey spawning anytime now as well.
Creeks are clear and low with temperatures in the mid 40s to just about 50 degrees.

Creeks are in good shape, clear but low with temperatures in the mid to high 40s. With some warmer weather we will probably see the 50 degree temperature mark a few times late this week.
Blue winged olive mayflies are still hatching well in the afternoon, as are black caddis. Watch for risers mostly after lunchtime, although on cloudier days the mayflies can spread out through most of the day.
Subsurface fishing is bug soup. Mostly anything will work with a good drift below a riffle right now. Streamers are starting to catch more fish as the water temps are warm enough for trout to chase larger meals (and for the larger meals to be moving around)

Creeks are clear and low with temperatures in the mid to high 40s.
Olives are hatching on most creeks in the afternoons, and we are expecting to see the caddis hatch at any time, especially as things slowly warm up.
Subsurface fishing has been good on larger nymphs and leeches in the mornings, followed by small thin bodied bugs in the riffles in the afternoon and evenings.

Creeks clear and low. Water temps are mid to high 40s, we are almost to the 50 degree mark which is classically the start of the caddis hatch.
Fishing low and slow in the mornings in the deeper runs, then moving into shallower water as the day progresses.
We are seeing olives in the afternoons, the spring stoneflies are still around, and we are expecting caddis to start anytime now.
Subsurface fishing has started to be more successful on thinner bodied bugs like perditions and midge larvae. However, the leech and micro streamer fishing is still strong.
