July 9th Fishing Report
Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. North wind 3 to 5 mph.
Fishing has been quite fun from sunup until about 10! Creeks are clear with spooky fish, but temperatures continue to stay favorable in the mornings. We still encourage you to use your thermometer. Anything over 65 degrees is going to be slow fishing and much warmer can be lethal to trout.
We’re finding some rising fish early with a simple parachute adams in smaller sizes or a midge dry working to fool the feeding fish. Otherwise, the standard summer rig of a beetle or other foam indicator pattern with a bead head below is quite good.
The evenings have been spotty, but we are still getting some fish to eat craneflies, caddis, or seam sippers in the riffles the last couple hours of the day.
