October 8th Fishing Report
Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Wisconsin’s trout season closes after the 15th. Get out there and fish! While the sun is not making trout super happy, it is a more than pleasant time out on the creeks right now. Water temperatures are good, we are experiencing a warming trend into the weekend which is getting the hoppers excited and opening more terrestrial fishing. Just remember to get your fly as close to the banks and structure as possible. It is a game of inches right now.
Subsurface fishing has been good on thin bodied bead heads, pheasant tails, and emergers later in the afternoon. The olive hatch is later in the day, usually the last few hours of sunlight on many of our creeks try a smoke jumper or CDC wing emerger.
