August 17th Fishing Report

Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

A pretty solid summer week ahead with high temps barely pushing 80, and after tonight, the lows will be consistently sub 60.

It is still summer, so please keep in mind that fishing mid day is not recommended.  We are still getting some creeks with water temperatures higher than 65 which means very poor fishing.  Keep using that thermometer!

It’s terrestrial time.  While there are still a few tricos in the morning, the main fishing is with a larger beetle or small grasshopper with a dropper below.  Nothing wrong fishing a training wheel and a brush hog all day long!

Shade is key.  If you fish when and where the sun is off the water, you will catch more fish.
