July 29th Fishing Report

Isolated showers and thunderstorms between 2pm and 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
We received about 1/10th of an inch of rain last night. Nothing major, but any rain will be good right now! Looking ahead, we might get some storms later tonight, and tomorrow looks overcast and drizzly (with a great cool down Wednesday night too). This could trigger some much better fishing tomorrow and into the weekend if the cooler temperatures hold.
Summertime trout fishing in the Driftless is all a weather game. It is never a great time to be here and fish, but if the weather and rains cooperate (like they are predicted to do) we can have some great morning fishing! Typically the afternoon and evenings are much slower.
The menu: Tricos in the morning, hopper or foam terrestrial with a dropper the rest of the time.
