Fishing Report

Scattered rain and snow showers before noon, then a slight chance of snow showers between noon and 2pm, then rain and snow showers likely after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Breezy, with a west wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Creeks are flowing a bit low and are clear to slightly stained. Temperatures are in the low to mid 40s.
Olives are the main menu item right now, with a spring stonefly here and here still around. Guides are doing well fishing leeches early in the morning, switching to a foam fly with a dropper mid day, then watching for fish rising to olives in the later afternoon and evening.

The dreary weather continues. The trout are loving it!!! Guides have been finding olives pretty much every afternoon hatching and subsurface fishing on scuds and thicker bodied bugs has been hot lately. Even fishing them under a foam dry (use an olive training wheel!) has been effective with some fish coming up and crushing the indicator fly!
Creeks are clear to slightly stained with temperatures in the mid to high 40s.

Overall, spring fishing has been solid. We have had some precipitation the past few days, but nothing that has blow rivers out and slowed the fishing down. Creeks are clear to stained with temperatures in the mid 40s.
Blue winged olives, a few spring stoneflies, and midges are still hatching getting some pods of rising fish in the afternoon. Guide trips have done very well fishing foam with a dropper already. With the overcast skies and sometimes stained water, scuds have been deadly lately along with leeches. Hot nymphs have been purple drank and some caddis larvae.

Ugly rain and snow end after today. Things clear up weather wise tomorrow. Creeks are still in good shape and fish are happy, things will be much better starting Friday.
Watch for olives and some spring stoneflies as well as leftover midges. Leeches and small streamers are effective right now too!

Temperatures this week aren’t expected to really top 40 degrees until later. While this isn’t horrible weather wise (the fish really don’t care, they are pretty happy) watch the overnight temps as cold nights mean slow morning fishing.
Overall the rains helped our creeks a TON. They were never enough to make things horribly muddy and bumped the water up a bit temporarily as well as got things moving subsurface. We are still seeing some midges and olives hatching sporadically, while subsurface fishing has been best on scuds, leeches, and flashy nymphs.

Creeks are clear to slightly stained. The precipitation the past few days did not muddy our creeks up. While some lower sections have a medium to heavy stain, the middle portions and headwaters are clear and the fishing is good!
We’re seeing olives on most of our creeks mid day along with a few midges that are getting fish to rise. Our guides have already reported success on foam patterns like the hippie stomper and chubby chernobyl too (using them as indicators with a nymph or emerger below has been highly successful)
Subsurface fishing has been good on scuds, flashy nymphs, and leeches.

Creeks are clear to stained and flowing in the low 40s. The rains aren’t yet as strong as initially predicted which means things are still in great shape fishing wise. The cloud cover has been a blessing for or low water and spooky fish, making it just a bit easier to approach each spot.
Olives are around, but not in great numbers. Also look for midges mid day. Something like the pearl butt secret emerger is an excellent choice right now for fish sipping midges or olive emergers.
Leeches and smaller streamers have also been fantastic lately, and will continue to be strong with this low pressure weather pattern.

A 20 percent chance of rain before 11am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 67. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
Creeks are clear and a bit low with temperatures in the low to mid 40s. The next couple of days we are forecasted to see some rain which will probably muddy things up as there is no cover vegetation on the bank sides yet. We will keep you updated, but it doesn’t look great until Friday. If the rains are light and only stain things up slightly, then it’s game on.
We are still doing well fishing midges, olives, and leeches subsurface. If the water clouds up, fishing a large scud or leech will be quite good!

The snow/rains from a couple days ago did very little to mess up fishing. Many creeks yesterday had a perfect stain to them. Most are clear as of today which means with the clear water, low flows, and bright sun things will be spooky again! Focus on the broken water below riffles and runs in the shade for the happiest trout.
We are seeing olives pretty much daily, not in great numbers but have a few in your fly box in case the hatch comes off! Otherwise, leeches have been great in the stained water, and small flashy nymphs fished below the riffles have also been good on all the creeks.
