July 7th Fishing Report
Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.
Creeks are clear to slightly stained. We did get some rains over the weekend which will help keep water temperatures down a bit. Overall expect them to be in the low to mid 60s. So far, we have a normal summertime. It doesn’t look to be getting extremely hot this week thankfully.
Temperature is key right now. Fishing over 65 degrees will be slow, and much warmer than that things can be lethal to trout. Fishing is best first thing in the morning until about 10. After that, a mid day break and checking creeks and temperatures the last couple hours of the day.
. The menu is ants, beetles, hippie stompers and other foam indicator patterns with thin bodied bead heads tied below. In the evenings, simple parachutes or seam sippers will work to cover most anything hatching.
