Fishing Report

Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Light and variable wind becoming east around 6 mph in the morning.
Creeks are very low and clear with temperatures in the low 60s. This is abnormally high for this time of season, so make sure to use your thermometers as anything over 65 will be poor fishing.
Thankfully the oppressive heat has gone away. We still need some rain, but the fishing has picked up with the more normal temperatures. Mid day is still very difficult, but mornings on terrestrials and bead heads, and evenings on a mix of lighter colored mayflies (sullphurs, PMDs).
When in doubt, a hippie stomper with a bead head below will catch you some fish!

We get a break from the crushing heat with highs in the mid 70s for the next couple of days. Creeks are still very low and clear though (we still need rain badly) and fish are super spooky. Remember to fish any bit of shade you can find, concentrate from sunup to about 10 and dinner time until sundown for the best fishing. Trout are far more willing to eat in the broken, riffle water than they are the deep flat pools too.
Beetles and ants are working well early (the hippie stomper hatch is on!) part of the day with thin bodied bead heads tied below. In the evening, lighter colored mayflies, craneflies, and egg laying caddis are getting fish to rise.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11am. Widespread haze before 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Creeks are very low and clear (we have had no real rain for almost 2 months) and temperatures are in the high 50s to low 60s and sometimes higher on the larger creeks. Please remember to use a thermometer and anything over 65 should be avoided.
Fishing early in the morning has been solid on ants and foam flies with a dropper. Things tend to shut down around 11 then pick up again in the later evening. At night fish are rising to craneflies and lighter colored mayflies (PMD/Sulphur).

Creeks are very low and clear, and with the recent hot weather, temperatures are climbing to the point that we are making sure to check our thermometers. Anything over 65 should be avoided.
The mornings are still fishing well with a beetle and a bead head below. Hatches are sparse right now with a few caddis and cranes and some lighter colored mayflies coming off, but hatch activity is low for this time of year.
Fish early, find some shade, and fish the last two hours of the day. We are in summer conditions right now and we need to change tactics. If some rain finally hits the creeks (and we need a lot to percolate into the springs) it should reset the fishing to get back on track, but it is very difficult right now.

Creeks are very low and clear and temperatures are creeping up into the low to mid 60s.
We have had a high pressure, sunny weather system over us for well over a month now and the creeks are starting to show it. Fish are super spooky mid day, and water temperatures are getting warm enough that we are starting to use thermometers. We need rain badly!
The silver lining, if you can get up early, the morning fishing is good until about 10 or 11. At night, the last hour or maybe 2 can be good as well.
Caddis, craneflies, light colored mayflies, and terrestrials are all good on the surface. Subsurface we are focusing on thinner bodied, dark nymphs (zebra midge, purdygon, pearl jam)

Water is low and fish are spooky as a result. Fish early and late for the best and most comfortable fishing. Skip the mid day to give trout (and yourself) a break during this low water/warm temp period. And if you know any way to make rain appear, please do it as the fish (and the ground) would appreciate it!

While fishing isn’t great, it isn’t horrible either. Fishing early and late, skipping the mid day sun, and finding shade is key right now. Summer fishing in springtime….
Hatches are concentrated during the first and last two hours of daylight. During the day fishing a beetle or hippie stomper with a dropper is key. When fish are rising they are eating egg laying caddis, light colored mayflies and craneflies.

The high pressure system is still over head. The lack of rain and sunny weather has fishing difficult. It is not impossible, and we are just now seeing some water temperatures climb into the 60s. If you find shade, and fish early and late in the day things are still ok.
Ants and beetles with bead heads below when possible will catch you fish in the riffles and broken water during the day, but the real action is coming at night with caddis, craneflies, and lighter colored mayflies hatching and fish rising to them.

Best fishing is 5-9 in the evening when the sun is off the water. You are able to grab a few fish in the riffles in middle part of the day, but it is more difficult than normal for this time of season!

Yet another sunny, high pressure day. These conditions are making fishing quite difficult. Fish early and late, and find the shade for your best success. Happy trout are in the broken water, or tucked underneath banks until the sun starts to lower in the sky (or early morning too).
Creeks are very low and crystal clear. While temperatures are good, the sun is really slowing things down.
Caddis, Craneflies, Sulphurs, Beetles and ants are all on the menu for the surface. Subsurface, unweighted pheasant tails, and thin bodied bugs (purdygons, zebrea midges etc) are catching fish.
