Fishing Report

Scattered sprinkles between 9am and noon. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 75. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
The weather has finally mellowed out and we are looking at highs in the mid to high 70s and lows dipping down near the 50s early next week!
While our water is still extremely low, the trout will welcome the cooler weather and waters.
Terrestrials are most effective right now. A plopped beetle or small hopper is getting fish to cruise across the creek and eat. We are still seeing a few trico spinners here and there in the mornings too.
Water temps are in the 60s on the smaller tributary creeks. The bigger waters are over 70 surface temperature. Please make sure to use your thermometer. Anything over 65 will be slow fishing.

A great break from the hot weather this weekend. Low tonight will be 60 and a high on Saturday of 75. Today will fish like a ‘heat hangover’ day meaning the fishing will be a bit slow after the brutal heat. The creeks are still low and very clear and the fish are incredibly spooky. Fish when and where the sun is off the water, and focus your efforts on the broken riffle water and just below the riffles into the undercut banks.
Very early we are still seeing some fish sip tricos, and very late into the night we have seen some fish rising to mayflies (parachute adams hatch). Otherwise, a beetle or small hopper with a purdygon bead head below will work.

Sunny and hot, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 109. Southwest wind 5 to 13 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.
It’s ugly again out there today. Tomorrow will be more normal but still a warm temp of about 85. The good news is that tonight and tomorrow night the lows will actually get back to where they should be overnight. It’s still best to not even bother today and tomorrow, but Saturday and Sunday will be decent weather wise.
We are still extremely low water, and without rain in the forecast we will continue recommending fishing early and maybe the last hour or two of the evening. It is a difficult summer for trout fishing, but thankfully we still have a couple bodies of water that are remaining cool.

Saturday cools down to the mid to low 70s. Mid week we are starting down temperatures around 100 from Tuesday through Thursday. It is our recommendation to just not fish, give the trout a break and focus on warm water and relaxing this week until things cool down this weekend.

We finally got rain! Some fairly heavy rains hit the area the past couple of days and should put fish in a good mood. The rest of the week will be fairly mild until Saturday.

Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 83. Breezy, with a southwest wind 13 to 16 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.
Area wide we received about 1/4 of an inch of rain. While this will do nothing to increase the creek flow, these tiny rains have turned the fishing on a bit for a day or two recently. We are still extremely low and water temperatures are creeping up into the mid 60s. Please remember your thermometer and try to avoid anything over 65 degrees.
Tricos in the morning, and terrestrials with a dropper in the afternoon/evenings. It is typically best to fish like crazy early on, then take a mid day siesta and try the last two hours or so of sunlight for best fishing.

Creeks remain very low and clear. Temperatures are summer warm with the larger creeks over 65 and the smaller creeks in the the low 60s. Make sure to use your thermometer!

Things are still OK out there, but nothing fantastic. Tricos in the morning and terrestrials with small droppers will work. The best fishing is on the tiny tributaries and springs that are cool and shaded.

Patchy dense fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 88. West wind 5 to 8 mph.

Hot and humid until Saturday (Saturday’s high is 80). Keep your fingers crossed as there is a chance of showers tonight and through the weekend.
Tricos in the morning, terrestrials after that. On hot days like this, the fishing usually dies off around 10 or 11. Remember your thermometer (anything over 65 will be slow fishing and much higher than that can stress trout) and avoid the lower sections and ‘larger’ creeks in the area.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Normal summer weather right now. FIsh early in the morning for the best fishing, and avoid the mid day sun and heat. There have been no major changes and fishing will remain just OK until we get some more rain. The weekend looks to be a bit better with some clouds, cooler temps and potential rains.

Tricos and terrestrials are on the menu.

Nothing new to report condition wise. Creeks are clear and low with temperatures in the low to high 60s with only a few creeks over 68 degrees. Remember to use your thermometer this month. Any temperatures over 65 will be slow to poor fishing and much higher than that you risk stressing trout.
We’re still stuck in a drought which means flows are lower than normal and aquatic vegetation is thicker than normal. The morning is really the only time for consistent fishing right now. Trico spinners and small terrestrials are working, and droppers will catch fish in the higher gradient areas of the creeks where weed growth is not too thick.
